I guess it’s your brain having to sort all the information and other junk you have absorbed during the day, storing what it needs and throwing out what it doesn’t need. If you didn’t perhaps you would have an overload!

This is not my area of expertise at all, I would agree with Stuart! The brain is very mysterious, and researchers are still trying to figure many things out. Scientists have been running dream studies for a very long time, and we still aren’t 100 percent sure about the function of sleep, or exactly how and why we dream.

Hello, this is a very debatable topic and no one really knows. Some people believe that the reason why we sleep is so that the brain can remove waste products that the cells have produced during the day. It is also thought that the dreams we have are the thoughts we have had during the day that our brain is trying to put into our long term memory. Others think that the brain isn’t transferring thoughts into our memory and that there is no actual logical reason as to why our brain would do this!
