For me this is probably Ethidium bromide! We use this to bind to DNA so we can run a gel, this helps us see how big the piece of DNA we are interested is, and to check we have the right one!! Ethidium bromide is thought to be very toxic and acts as a mutagen because it combines with double stranded DNA (i.e., inserts itself between the strands), deforming the DNA!!
For me it us hydrofluoric acid. Not something you will find in school. Even diluted it is highly toxic, penetrates skin without you feeling it, and destroys bone…!
